Celebrity clothing brands that are worth the hype, or not?!

The market place is full of celebrity clothing brands, that are owned by celebrities ranging from reality stars to models. The brands currently sweeping social media? Skims, Good American, Savage XFenty and Fabletics.

However, there are many more that are worth a look and they're outlined here, so you can skip the research.

1. Draper James: Are you looking a brand that pulls at your heart strings? Look no further than Draper James.

In the words of owner, Reese Witherspoon " I started this company to honor my Southern heritage and in particular my grandparents who were, and still are, the greatest influences in my life: my grandmother, Dorothea Draper and my grandfather, William James Witherspoon. My grandparents taught me everything I know about gracious Southern living. From them I learned to dress and act like a lady, to take pride in my home, to reach out to help a neighbor, and to always invite everyone in for a visit."

Price Points: Dresses Ranging from $110 to 195, Tops 49.95-115, Bottoms $75

Aesthetic: Think soft and feminine with florals, ruffles, eyelets and lace

Customer Reviews: Range between 3 and 5 stars, with many touting a good fit and comfort

Other Notes: Draper James has extended sizes range to 3X and has an exclusive line for Kohl's.

2. SJP: Who better to trust when it comes to shoes, then SJP, Sarah Jessica Parker, star of Sex and The City.

The premiss behind the brand, explained by SJP herself , "In February 2014, George and I launched the SJP Collection. We founded our footwear collection upon three main pillars: delivering quality products, using color and sparkle as a neutral, and giving the single sole a new heartbeat. We arrived in NYC the same month of the same year and share many fashion references from those early days on the island of Manhattan and those points of inspiration have played an influential role in our design process. As well, we both agreed that our shoes had to be handmade in Italy which enjoys a long tradition of being considered the home of the finest shoemakers in the world."

Price Points: $345 to 1,350

Aesthetic: Styles include Flats, Pumps, Sandals and Boots with a wide range of classic solid colors and brights. The brand also includes some bolder options with rhinestones, buckle embellishments and bows.

Customer Reviews: Unfortunately, there are not may reviews.

Other Notes: SJP has a Bridal Collection and heel height options between 500 and 100 mm. The site also includes a section for "Evergreens." These are "the silhouettes that we will always have and never take away from you and always update with new colors!"

3. The Row: Looking for a brand that spans across Men's, Women's and Kid's and is insistent on providing only the highest quality garments, The Row may be the right fit for you, if the price point doesn't throw you!

"The Row was established in 2006 by Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen. Focusing on exceptional fabrics, impeccable details, and precise tailoring, the house combines a timeless perspective with subtle attitudes which form an irreverent classic signature. The Row’s collections also explore the strength of simplistic shapes that speak to discretion and are based on uncompromising quality."

Price Points: $250-8500

Aesthetic: Oversized, relaxed silhouettes with strong focus on neutrals and solids.

Customer Reviews: Not listed on the site

Other Notes: The Brand includes many natural fibers including wool, organic cotton and silk

4. Calia: Fitness Brand Calia, owned by country artist Carrie Underwood has a strong mission around supporting women. The brand story states "We believe it’s the smallest details that make the biggest impact in your everyday. Like stay-put waistbands, clothes that are easy to care for, and styles in sizes XXS-3X that fit seamlessly into whatever you’re doing, in and out of the gym.

"It’s fitness apparel designed for your life, so you never have to sacrifice fashion for function or your lifestyle for your workout."

Price Points: $35 to $110

Aesthetic: A wide variety of color and pattern options and coverage options. With a quick glance it feels like the target market of this customer is pretty broad, intentionally.

Customer Reviews: Calia has hundreds of reviews on some styles. Most of them, in the 4 or 5 star range. Common themes in the reviews include customer callouts around a soft hand-feel and great tummy control on the leggings.

Other Notes: Calia offers a Personal Styling Session! The stylist will work with the customer to make tops suggestions for different activities. Signing up seems simple, choosing a date and time that is available and works best for your schedule. It is also notable that Calia can be purchased at retail partner, Dicks Sporting Goods. Sizes also range through 3X.

In review, some of these brands are pretty "polarizing" with high price points and a very specific aesthetics. If you're looking to venture beyond your comfort zone and try out a few of these celebrity brands, I would start with Draper James and if you are looking for athletic apparel dive into Calia. These both feel like a low risk. For special occasions, like bridal I would give SJP a try too, but with a lack of reviews its unlikely that I would venture to spend upwards of $1000 for an investment pair of shoes without a good understanding of the quality.
